Alvin Kamara As a Wide Receiver…Really?

Twitter @CFBMetrics

As I am doing research for dynasty rookie drafts, I come across some articles and notes from local reporters on lesser-covered or off the beaten track rookies at training camps…or just nice observation notes on all the young players. I’m going to share some of them with you on players you might be interested in...

You probably saw the recent ESPN note that Alvin Kamara has been working out some as a wide receiver for the Saints…and the mere mention of that will send dynasty-fantasy owners of Kamara into a tizzy, and I see it already boosting his dynasty rookie draft ADP the past 24 hours.

Here’s the thing…we need to read more of the ESPN note to understand the entire situation. The headline that Kamara was working out with the wide receivers is attention getting, for sure. However, finding out that it is a ritual that Sean Payton has all pass catching RBs do, most recently Travaris Cadet…well, that angle isn’t as sexy. In reality, it’s not a new twist, a new usage specially designed for Kamara…it’s just standard operating procedure for Payton.

Here’s the entire ESPN note…

Spiller, PPR, Tim Hightower Twitter @CFBMetrics, @FFMetrics   This web article caught my eye for an odd reason: For those checking out Daniel Lasco for Dynasty Rookie Draft purposes, give this a quick read, and maybe play the 30-second video interview as well. 2014 Undrafted Free Agent (UDFA) Commentary: New Orleans Saints

Twitter @CFBMetrics Kansas State FS prospect Ty Zimmerman is coming off shoulder surgery. He’s an interesting hopeful for the NFL. He’s a nice size at 6’1” and 202-pounds, and he’s a decent hitter as well…nearly seven tackles a game, including a 14-tackle game (13 solos) at Oklahoma State. He picked-off three passes last season as […].. Continue reading→
