At College Football Metrics, we want to outperform all other scouting services in correctly evaluating where teams should take prospects in the NFL Draft. But we also want to lead the way in predicting what teams will actually do with their draft picks. In 2015, we made our debut in The Huddle Report’s exclusive, expert-only NFL Draft contests. CFM took 5th place (out of 113) in the mock draft competition and 4th place (out of 56) in the top 100 board competition. In 2016, we want double crowns!

CFM has partnered with Xavier Cromartie (Twitter @xaviercromartie) to produce mock drafts and top 100 prospect boards based on his latest intel, research, and analysis. Xavier was the final grand prize winner of ESPN’s NFL Draft 1st Round Forecast game, and he is the undefeated Play The Draft Champion Emeritus.

Draft scenarios change as new information comes in during draft season, and so we will run updates here as often as Xavier makes adjustments to his mocks and boards.

Round 1

1. Tennessee Titans: OT Laremy Tunsil (Mississippi) Last = 1  —  He stays at the top spot by doing nothing.

2. Cleveland Browns: QB Carson Wentz (North Dakota State) Last = 2  —  No love for tiny-handed QBs in Cleveland. 29 on the Wonderlic.

3. San Diego Chargers: CB Jalen Ramsey (Florida State) Last = 3  —  Every team would like to get him, even the Titans.

4. Dallas Cowboys: LB Myles Jack (UCLA) (+) Last = 5  —  Jack is a more dynamic player than Bosa.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: DE Joey Bosa (Ohio State) (-) Last = 4  —  His incredible agility saved his draft stock.

6. Baltimore Ravens: DE DeForest Buckner (Oregon) Last = 6  —  The fourth of four guys in the running for ‘best defender’ in the class.

7. San Francisco 49ers: QB Jared Goff (Cal) Last = 7      Lynch could enter the conversation here soon.

8. Miami Dolphins: CB Vernon Hargreaves (Florida) Last = 8   —  Seems like the only choice unless Bosa or Jack fall through.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OT Ronnie Stanley (Notre Dame) Last = 9   —  Leonard Floyd may be in play, but Stanley should be higher on the board.

10. New York Giants: DT A’Shawn Robinson (Alabama) (+) Last = 13  —  Likely the first of many DTs.

11. Chicago Bears: OLB Leonard Floyd (Georgia) Last = 11  —  Had a good Combine, as expected.

12. New Orleans Saints: DT Sheldon Rankins (Louisville) (+) Last = 28  —  Solidly in the mid-first at this point.

13. Philadelphia Eagles: QB Paxton Lynch (Memphis) (+) Last = 15  —  If they have a shot at one of the top 3 QBs, they’ll probably go for it.

14. Oakland Raiders: LB Reggie Ragland (Alabama) Last = 14   —  Stock up on DBs later.

15. Los Angeles Rams: QB Connor Cook (Michigan State) (+) Last = 67   —  Gotta have a QB.

16. Detroit Lions: OT Jack Conklin (Michigan State) Last = 16   —  Nothing changed, he was always a mid-first.

17. Atlanta Falcons: LB Darron Lee (Ohio State) Last = 17   —  He was supposed to run fast.

18. Indianapolis Colts: RB Ezekiel Elliott (Ohio State) (-) Last = 10   —  Should go somewhere in the 10-20 range.

19. Buffalo Bills: DE Kevin Dodd (Clemson) (+) Last = 39   —  Universally agreed to be slightly better than Shaq Lawson.

20. New York Jets: DE Shaq Lawson (Clemson) (+) Last = 40  —  Moved up a little bit from fringe 1st/2nd to late-1st.

21. Washington Pigskins: DT Jarran Reed (Alabama) Last = 21   —  Consistent run-stuffing nose.

22. Houston Texans: QB Christian Hackenberg (Penn State) (+) Last = 52   —  If you want him, you can’t wait.

23. Minnesota Vikings: WR Laquon Treadwell (Mississippi) Last = 23   —  He was always a late-1 because he’s slow. The media pumped him as an early-1.

24. Cincinnati Bengals: DT Robert Nkemdiche (Mississippi) (-) Last = 19   —  He seems destined for the Bengals.

25. Pittsburgh Steelers: CB Kendall Fuller (Virginia Tech) (-) Last = 24   —  Microfracture may send him to early 2nd, but he’s a 1st when healthy.

26. Seattle Seahawks: OT Germain Ifedi (Texas A&M) (+) Last = 54  —  I thought he was a 2nd but he’s getting late-1st chatter.

27. Green Bay Packers: OT Jason Spriggs (Indiana) (+) Last = 35   —  Should be a late-1st for sure now.

28. Kansas City Chiefs: CB Eli Apple (Ohio State) (-) Last = 25   —  A little overrated, late 1st/early 2nd.

29. Arizona Cardinals: DE Emmanuel Ogbah (Oklahoma State) (+) Last = 30  Good Combine, was always a late 1st.

30. Carolina Panthers: OT Taylor Decker (Ohio State) (-) Last =  —  18  Might belong a little higher but right tackles tend to slip.

31. Denver Broncos: DT Austin Johnson (Penn State) (+) Last = 48   —  Probably taking a DL here if no OT is available.
